Tuesday, June 16, 2020 – As part of Diamond Awards Week, The CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council announced the winners of the CUNA Diamond Awards on Friday, June 12. The most prestigious annual credit union industry competition in the country, the awards were celebrated in a series of virtual awards ceremonies to honor the credit union industry’s best and brightest.
The CUNA Diamond Awards recognize exceptional efforts in credit union marketing and business development. This year’s awards competition received a record-high turnout with 1,295 entries in 35 categories, including logos, branding, advertising, and more. Two of Adrenaline’s entries received this industry honor for creative excellence and outstanding results.

Since 1940, Montana Federal Credit Union had been known as the place to bank in and around Great Falls, Montana, but as demographics and business shifted, the financial institution needed to expand its reach and grow. As part of a two-year rebranding process, the CU boasted a fresh, modern look with its new logo that would appeal to its current 50+ membership and attract a younger demographic at the same time. With an updated charter that supported its physical and service-side expansion, Adrenaline developed a new identity to reflect the credit union’s current and future opportunity.

On the heels of its wildly successful “Big Wigs” campaign – which showed how members adorned in powdered, white 18th-century wigs felt like big wigs – Workers Credit Union found a growing opportunity for acquisition among millennial women. Because of the shift in target, the credit union partnered with Adrenaline to launch a new campaign with more nuanced humor to help increase brand awareness among this distinctive audience. The result is “Karen and Claire” in whom millennial women can see themselves and their friends, achieving an effective balance of comedy and delivery of brand value.
